Right now we cannot be sure if Phelps is white, or for that matter if he is even the same one who served in the 2nd Texas-- records would have to be ordered at a cost to someone. Once the records are ordered and reviewed, then and only then we can be sure.
Now let's assume I knew Phelps was (possibly) white, and I altered the first source material, just how does that look on my part? It would look like I am twisting the facts and creating my own sources. Do you agree?
Now reallly does that make me wrong or the good folks in Texas? Is my reserach really faulty for getting info from these state archives? I think not.
There are at this time nearly 2,000 listing on this website, with more being added each day, please feel free to find any errors that you can. We appreciate the help.

So what you are saying is that the info. provided by Andy Hall is not worth your time and you want others to research the names you claim are BCS's to discover any mistakes, which by the definition of research is your responsibility?
Oh this deserves a post on my blog...

Feel free to post to your blog I have no problem with that be sure to reference this website.
Now to answer your question. Nope never said anything of that nature. I said at this time -- meaning we need to get a second response from Texas. A request for clarification has already been sent.
If you want to challenge and research each and every entry on this website feel free to do so. As far me I am satisfied that I have made entries accurate using the sources noted . If you have a problem with any entry I suggest you prove the source wrong.
As noted on the homepage ---
"In this "Negros in Gray" website we will present some of these arguments and counter arguments. We will also present family stories from Black people who have researched their family lines. We will present documentation and sources that may or may not be found on the Internet, we will in all respects try to give factual information for use by everyone. We here at SHAPE fully understand and acknowledge that we do not have all the information or answers, nor do we expect everyone to agree with our positions, regardless of what information is provided. However we do invite you to submit factual information to support your argument so that we all may learn together."
It seems that Andy has all the proof he or I need. Hell, he has a copy of the pension already, used it in the post and your are still in denial. Amazing!
If you were not in such a hurry to try and prove me wrong and you would just take the time to slow down and read on both websites you would see that Andy and I both have agreed to wait on TSI's response. This is at least the second time I have said this to you. We are both giving them benefit of the doubt and the chance to correct the info they sent. I haven't denied anything.
Now you have had you say, move on and wait for TSI's response or run the risk of being banned. Your choice. No more warnings.
