2. George Brice-- (Col'd) Musician, Capt. Read's Co., Roll dated July 25 to Sept. 1, 1861. Enlisted July 25, 1861, Oglethorpe Bks.(?) by Lt. Col. Rockwell for a period of 12 months. Nov. and Dec. 1861, present. Jan. 1 to Jan. 25, 1862, present. No cards after this date. (CSR)

3. Bacchus Davis -- (Col’d) Musician, Capt. Read's Co., Roll dated July 25 to Sept. 1, 1861. Enlisted July 25, 1861, Oglethorpe Bks.(?) by Lt. Col. Rockwell for a period of 12 months. Nov. and Dec. 1861, present. Jan. 1 to Jan. 25, 1862, present. No cards after this date. (CSR)

4. Reuben-- Cook, Co. D. Listed under Robin. Negro Cook. On a muster roll of Sept. Oct, 1862, enlisted at Camp Anderson, Aug. 23 1862 by Capt. Dent. for the war. Pay due from enlistment-- $50.00. Present on all cards, last card dated Dec. 31, 1863. (CSR)

5. Charles Benger -- Musician Co. D. Enlisted April 20, 1861, Macon, Ga. for a period of 12 months. Present on all cards until discharge July 22 1862. This appears to be the same man as Charles Benger of Co. B, 30th Ga. Inf. Enlisted Chatham Co., Ga. with consensus of master Oct. 12, 1862"for the war". Nov. and Dec card-- absent "sic" (?). No cards after this date.

A RESOLUTION

1- 1 Recognizing the late Mr. Charles Hicks; and for other
1- 2 purposes.

1- 3 WHEREAS, Charles Hicks was born in 1838 and was a slave in
1- 4 the household of James H. Hicks, Sr., of Wrightsville when
1- 5 the Civil War began; and

1- 6 WHEREAS, he accompanied Lt. James H. Hicks, Jr., into the
1- 7 14th Georgia Infantry Regiment and joined General Robert E.
1- 8 Lee's army in Virginia; and

1- 9 WHEREAS, Charles Hicks was sent home in 1864 just in time to
1-10 face the forces of Union General William T. Sherman in their
1-11 march through Georgia;
